Miscellaneous

As well as my day-to-day commercially-focused work, I also like to keep myself involved in creative projects so that I can express my creativity in a slightly different and through a range of mediums, such as wheat pastes, art prints and painting. Here are a few examples as well as some of other large format/space based projects.

Working with an existing identity, I was asked to create a large wall installation featuring the past legends of the sport. The idea was to create the greatest cycling race of all time, which included all of the greats and featured sections and landmarks of all of the biggest races in the cycling calendar too. Once the design was finalised, it was printed in sections and applied to the wall as a wheat paste and finished with some on-the-spot overspray.

Pedalling Squares Cafe now has a reputation as one of the most highly regarded cycling cafes in the country as well as currently standing as the third best ‘restaurant’ in Newcastle/Gateshead on the reputable Trip Advisor.

Created with a few pots of paint and a brush or two, the artwork has now become part of the fabric of this local gem. A focal point of many social media posts for customers each and every week.

(Great Exhibition of The North)

The Great Exhibition of the North was a two-month exhibition, celebrating art, culture, and design in the North of England, held in Newcastle and Gateshead between 22 June and 9 September 2018. A range of local organisation took part in the event by creating their own exhibitions to be part of the overall show. I was fortunate to work on the ambitious project of Ryder Architects which turned out to be a resounding success.
